Sewer Screwpiles
As home sites become smaller and underground services infrastructure becomes more congested protection of these services becomes more of an issue. Structures within easement proximity require special consideration.
During the buildings design, survey and licencing phase location and identification of underground services needs to confirmed. As defined by the relevant Services Authority any structure, or part thereof, that extends into an aloted easement's "zone of influence" must have its foundation system loads transferred to below a specified "line of influence" to ensure any future underground maintenance work does not compromise the structure or affect the service itself.
Screwpile Australia supplies a range of "off the shelf" sewer screwpiles for domestic housing applications in accordance with a standardised foundation design concept that it has developed with local housing engineers over the years. The connection interface between the screwpile and concrete footing is standardised with specified shear bar sizes to transfer design loads into the piles.
The same range of screwpiles can be used in situations where easements exist due to exposed drains and sumps. This along with Screwpile Australia's computerised scheduling department provide builders with the most time efficient piling works ordering system available.
Larger buildings and structures within easements require individual engineering consideration. Design loads are likely to be considerable and minimum pile depths will be increased. Interface connection will be in accordance with the pile design loads. These screwpiles are all special order manufacture.
