Indigenous Participation Strategy

Screwpile Australia is committed to providing equal opportunity for all employees, and to promoting affirmative action programs designed to address past inequities. As an equal employment opportunity employer, Screwpile Australia strives to ensure that workplace rules, policies, procedures and practices at each site are fair, and do not impact adversely on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We recognise that Indigenous people are not a generic group but made up of many different groups with their own unique languages and customs. We acknowledge and respect the values and beliefs of Indigenous people and recognise the importance of preserving local customs and cultures.

Screwpile Australia understands that many Indigenous people and communities do not share the same opportunities as non-Indigenous people in terms of capital wealth, employment, education, health, housing and general wellbeing.

As a company, we are committed to creating a work environment in which the unique rich and diverse cultural backgrounds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are acknowledged and valued, and in which the individual career goals and personal aims of Indigenous employees are identified, promoted, achieved and celebrated. We are devoted to increasing Indigenous participation in our business through meaningful partnerships with indigenous communities, government, our clients and the public. We are dedicated to building stronger relationships with Indigenous communities and creating increased opportunities for employment and engagement.
The Indigenous Participation Strategy will benefit all employees of Screwpile Australia by:
  •  Promoting tolerance, mutual respect and equity in the workplace
  • Delivering a workplace free from discrimination and harassment
  • Encouraging diversity and equity in the workforce at all levels
  • Encouraging cross cultural awareness and understanding
  • Producing a socially responsible, inclusive and culturally sensitive work environment
  • Promoting reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians through the creation of a workforce that is representative of the wider community that the company serves
  • Align our organisation with our clients values
